How a Removal and Remount Job Works

1. Plan around the roofer.

   We confirm the roofing schedule so the panels come off right before the roofer starts and go back on once the roof is finished.

2. Check the system before removal.

   We note how the system is performing and look for worn parts, so any repair needs are known before the panels come down.

3. Remove and set aside the equipment.

   Panels, collectors, racking, and connections are taken down carefully, and we talk through where the equipment will be kept during the roof work.

4. Remount and reconnect.

   After the new roof is in, we reinstall the mounting, put the panels or collectors back, and reconnect the system.

5. Test the system.

   We confirm the system is producing power or heating water again before we finish.

Pool heating and hot water systems have plumbing that runs across the roof, not just panels. Those lines and collectors have to be disconnected, removed, and re-plumbed after the roof work, and we handle that along with solar electric systems.
